Siberian huskies can be excellent companions for people fulfill and understand them and their special needs. Huskies have a lifespan of 12 to 15 years, a Siberian husky can be a very important member of your family for a long time.
1. How to fulfill your dog’s living conditions
Siberian huskies can’t fit well at apartments unless you can give your dog plenty of exercise. The perfect place for this bread is a house with a large fenced yard, as long as you don’t care about your lawn or garden because these dogs dig.
2. How to exercise your Siberian husky
Siberian huskies are known for their unique energy, huskies need daily exercise and can be great workout buddies. If you don’t have a large yard where your dog can play and run, you should take your dog out for walking or jogging everyday, but go easy on your husky when is summertime or warm weather.
3. How to prepare your yard
Before you adopt a Siberian husky, make sure that your dog can’t escape, because Siberian huskies like to explore and roam. You should have a fence that’s at least six feet high with wire or concrete barriers below the fence because huskies can dig out.
Never let your Siberian husky off-leash at the park or during a walk, because they can run away. This doesn’t mean that huskies are disloyal but Siberian huskies simply enjoys exploring and roaming around. If you adopt a husky, is good to take your husky at the vet and to get your husky microchipped, and make sure she always wears a tag with her name, your name and your contact information.
5. Optimal Climate
Siberian huskies like and do well in cool climates but can become uncomfortable and even can get ill heat. If you live somewhere hot, provide plenty of shade outside and have effective air-conditioning inside. At summer, you should exercise your dog early in the morning or late in the evening.
6. Shedding
Huskies can shed a lot because of their thick fur, especially at seasons and warm weather. Two times in one year huskies spend a week or more shedding very heavily. Plan on vacuuming your dog frequently, brushing at least daily and sharing your home with clumps of fur.
7. Leadership
Huskies have been born and bred to work with a leader. And that leader has to be you, if you can’t be that leader your dog will takeover. Exercise and obedience classes can help you establish a hierarchy with you and your Siberian husky. If you can’t provide consistency and clarity in your leadership, probably the Siberian husky isn’t the right dog for you.
8. Siberian huskies and other pets
If you have pets such as cats, birds, rabbits and ferrets your home is not a safe place for them because huskies have such strong predatory instincts. Huskies can get along well with dogs of other breeds, but it varies by individual.
9. Temperament
Huskies are friendly, playful, intelligent and easily bored. If you and your family members are away from home for more than eight hours a day, the Siberian husky is not the right dog for you because when huskies don’t get enough activity they can be destructive and overly hyper, they also howl if they feel neglected, because huskies are a very friendly. Siberian huskies aren’t usually good guard dogs.
10. Appetite
Because Siberian huskies spend hight energy, you might think that Siberia huskies eat a lot, but you’d be wrong because they need little food. In fact, you might be surprised at how little food they need.
Train a Husky to Roll Over – Teach your Siberian Husky amazing tricks!
Huskies are generally social dogs with positive temperaments, so to train your husky to roll over can be easier than training other breeds, such as terriers. As large dogs, huskies are more prone to arthritis and hip conditions than small dogs, so if you suspect your dog has any arthritis or pain, check with your veterinarian before attempting to teach the husky to roll over.
1. Teach your husky the “down” command. Do this by showing your husky a treat in your hand, and saying “down” in a loud, clear voice while slowly lowering the treat to the ground. Once your husky’s elbows are on the ground, praise the dog generously with an affectionate tone in your voice, and give your husky the treat. Repeat the exercise five times, two to three times a day, for about 10 days or until the husky learns the “down” command.
2. Command your husky to lie down. Once he’s down, drag the treat across the ground toward the back of his neck. Do not place the treat on the back of his neck, but rather drag it across the ground in that direction. When he turns his head to follow the treat in such a way that his body pivots to the side, praise him. Repeat the exercise five times, two to three times a day.
3. Lavish praise as you continue teaching your husky to lie down. Do this as your husky progressively pivots more and more onto her side. Begin to say “roll over” in a loud, clear voice. Give a treat as she lies on her side. Repeat the exercise five times, two to three times a day.
4. Drag the treat along the ground until the husky rolls over fully to follow the treat with his nose. If the husky does not fully roll over, gently nudge him over by pushing on his limbs. Stop immediately if you sense the husky is scared about having his limbs touched. Continue to say “roll over” in a clear voice. Continue to give praise when the husky is lying on his side, but delay the treat until he completes a full roll.
5. Repeat this exercise five times, two to three times a day, saying “roll over” in a clear tone and waiting for a full roll before giving the treat.
We are all familiar with a doggy horror story or two — times where owners have let their dogs down in their time of need, whether that be through serious acts of neglect or abandonment, the circumstances are always heartbreaking.
With stories like these constantly being reported it is often easy to forget the millions of amazing dog moms and dads out there who are doing an incredible job loving their babies. So even though we can’t guarantee you won’t shed a tear reading Kanes’ story we can at least promise it will be in a good way.
Kane’s legs suddenly stopped working and the family didn’t know what to do.
The love between a dog and their owner is unconditional so when Siberian husky Kane suddenly developed age-related pain and paralysis in his two back legs his owner refused to put him down. Although Kane was too old to survive the strain of an operation and there was a very real chance that he may never walk again, his owner decided to do everything he possibly could to make sure the elderly pooch was comfortable.
After many hours spent researching and a slew of pain medication that in the end didn’t work well enough, they stumbled across water therapy.
With nothing to lose and Kanes’ life on the line his owner took Kane to a local pool for an assisted swim and immediately saw a change in him.
The dog who had been suffering from acute chronic pain was suddenly pain-free due to the weightlessness effect water has on the body and after a few sessions in the pool, the miraculous happened, Kane started to walk again!
In the heartwarming video uploaded on YouTube by Kanes owner found at the footer of the article, we see Kane walking again with little help from doggy mobility equipment and even on his own!
Congratulations to Kane on his recovery and kudos to this doggy dad who refused to give up on his good boy!

According to the Siberian Husky Club of America these are the most common husky coat colors that are often faced in the Siberian Huskies.
These colors are never located finally because we have small deviations in color. Acknowledged that there can’t be two Siberian huskies totally the same. If your husky coat colors are not like one of these described below that does not mean that your dog is not a pure breed.
1. BLACK AND WHITE (Siberian Husky Coat Colors)
Jet Black
Guard coat is solid black, the individual guard hair is monochrome black from root to tip. Single white guard hairs appear occasionally. The undercoat is black or more frequently dark grey. The jet black coat is frequently accompanied by great depth of black pigment on pads and roof of mouth.
Black
Guard hairs are banded with some amount of white near roots. Single white guard hairs appear more frequently. Undercoat may be lighter than is seen in the jet black coat while some buff-colored hairs may be found in the lower stifle and in the vicinity of the ears. The dog gives the impression of having a black and white coat but without the depth of pigmentation found in the jet black and white coat.
Dilute Black
Guard hairs are banded with the whitish cast extending substantially from the root and tipped with black. Undercoat has a whitish cast. Dog appears to be black on head and along spine while shorter guard coat along flanks produces a silver effect.
2. GRAY AND WHITE
Silver Gray
Guard hair is banded with various tones of white and minimal black tipping. The undercoat is of a whitish cast. The effect produced is a silver shade of gray on head, back, and flanks, with only minimal darkening along spine.
Gray
The guard hair is banded with cream and/or buff tones near the root with black tipping. The light undercoat is toned to give the dog a yellowish-gray cast.
Wolf Gray
The guard hair is banded with buff tones near the root with black tipping. The cream tones of the undercoat combine to give the dog a brownish-gray cast.
3. RED AND WHITE
The color is Always associated with liver points and complete absence of black hairs. Light, medium, and dark may be specified, determined by the amount of solid color banding on guard.
4. SABLE AND WHITE
The guard hair is banded with a reddish cast near the root with black tipping. Undercoat is reddish-copper. Always accompanied by black points; this color gives the dog a reddish cast and is not to be confused with wolf gray.
5. AGOUTI AND WHITE
The guard hair is banded with black near the root and at the tip with a yellow or beige band at the center of the hair. Undercoat is very dark. Defined as the “wild color,” it is most frequently seen in wild rodents.
6. SOLID WHITE
The guard hair appears to be either monochrome (not banded) or banded with pale cream tinges at the root of an otherwise white hair. An occasional black guard hair may appear. The undercoat is solid white. This coat color results from either an extreme piebald factor or an extreme dilution factor and may, as a result, be accompanied by either black or liver points.
